Dear Parents/Guardians,
Title I is a federally funded program that enables our school to provide extra support to students in reading and math. The program is administered by the Supervisor of Special Programs. The district operates a School-Wide program and offers additional help to all students in the Elementary and Middle Schools.
Reading and Math assessments are administered at the beginning of the school year, middle of the year, and at the end of the year. Classroom teachers and the Title I staff review the scores, classroom performance, and grades in language arts and math to determine if students are in need of additional assistance. After school tutoring is offered to all students in grades 3 - 7.
In addition to providing support to students in reading and math, the Title I staff hosts Read Across America, a nationwide event that promotes reading. This annual event brings together community members, students, teachers, and administrators to celebrate the joys of reading. Through the generous donations of the WAHSAA and other community organizations, we are able to place books in the hands of many children.
If you have any questions, please contact the Elementary School: 570-427-8687. Our main purpose is to have every child find success in school! Thank you for your support.
