Students Of The Month

September: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for September. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.

 

Rhianne Markovchick, daughter of Brian and Rachael Markovchick, Weatherly, is the sixth grade Student of the Month.  She is in Art & Gym Club.

Rhianne is a member of Northeast Gymnastics, Hazleton Street Hockey Team, and the Weatherly Library.

Rhianne is a member of St. Peter & Pauls’s Church in Hazleton.

 

Ashley James, daughter of John and Michelle James, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a member of the middle school chorus, Jr. High Girls Basketball Team, Jr. High Softball Team and is homeroom representative for student council.

Ashley plays basketball for Freeland YMCA, Weatherly Youth Basketball League and the 13U Softball Team.  She participates in Walkathons and fundraisers and enjoys hunting, fishing, trapping, and cooking.

Ashley is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she is an alter server.


Amanda De Leon, daughter of Jessica Sanabria, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  She is a member of the middle school chorus and 8th grade decorating committee. 

September: Elementary Students in the Spotlight

Weatherly Elementary School recently recognized their Students in the Spotlight for September.  First row- Mary Portell, Rebecca Caldwell, Jackson DiGennaro, Carmen Aurisano, Angelia Ieraci, Vaughn Nun, Kayla Kennelly and Alyssa Ahner;

October: Middle School Students of the Month

The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.


Jash Khatiwala, son of Divyang and Bela Khatiwala, White Haven, is the sixth grade Student of the Month.  He is a Principal’s Honor student and a member of the middle school band and chorus.

Jash is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League where he is on Gerhard Roofing and he helps his parents with jobs.


Tiffany McCroy, daughter of Brian McCroy and Donna Maiello, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus and Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team.

Tiffany is a member of the Weatherly Girls Softball League and Greater Hazleton Youth Soccer Association.


Albert Kislan, son of Al Kislan and Chrissie Houser, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  He is a First Honor student, a member of the middle school band and attends SHINE.

Albert is a member of the Weatherly Boy Scouts.

Albert is a member of Zions Lutheran Church.

November: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for November. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.

 

Timothy Maguschak, son of Keith and Victoria Maguschak, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  He is a Principal’s Honor student and a member of the middle school band.

Timothy is a member of the Weatherly Boy Scouts and the Weatherly Youth Basketball League.

Timothy is a member of St. Peter & Paul’s Church in Beaver Meadows where he is an alter server.

 

Amanda Colecio, daughter of Anthony and Jennifer Colecio, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal’s Honor student, Reflections Contest Winner, attended the Envirothon, a member of the middle school band and chorus, Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team, Sum Dog Team, S.P.A.R.C., is homeroom representative for student council, and was the PA Attorney General Drug-Free Calendar Contest Winner.

Amanda is a member of the Weatherly Girl Scouts, Weatherly Youth Basketball League, Valley Regional Girls Softball Team, Hazleton YMCA Girls Basketball League, and volunteers at the White Haven Library and Good News Camp.

Amanda is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where she is a cantor, alter server, and attends Vacation Bible School.


Alexander Landis, son of Jeremy and Crystal Landis, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  He is in Science and Reading Club and is a cafeteria helper.

December: Middle School Students of the Month

The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.

 

Owen Podgers, son of Dean and Christa Podgers, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  He is a Principal’s Honor student and a member of the middle school band.  He was in the Elementary District Band and was on the Stagecrew for the Charlie Brown Play in 2014.

Owen is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League and a 5 year member of the Weatherly Boy Scouts.

Owen is a member of Zions Lutheran Church where he received First Communion.

 

Alyssa Heister, daughter of Chip and Clara Heister, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus, Jr. High Girls Basketball Team, and is homeroom representative for student council.

 

Hailey Wenner, daughter of Keith Wenner and Jessica Martens, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  She is a member of the middle school chorus, Weatherly Girls Softball Team and is a cafeteria helper.

Hailey is a member of the Valley Regional Girls Softball Team.

December: Elementary Students in the Spotlight

January: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for January. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.


Kayla Jones, daughter of Richard and Christina Jones, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  She is a First Honor student and a member of the middle school chorus.

Kayla is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League and Weatherly Girl Scouts where she was in the Memorial Day Parade, helped pick-up trash with the cub scouts, and placed flags on Veteran’s graves in the Union Cemetery.  She also helps her neighbor carry her groceries in her house.

Kayla donates supplies to the churches through the girl scouts.


Tanya McCroy, daughter of Brian McCroy and Donna Maiello, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus, Weatherly Cross Country Team, and Weatherly Jr. High Girls Softball Team.

Tanya is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League, Valley Softball Team, and plays recreational soccer.

Kayla Deppen, residing with Michael and Dawn Wyffels, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  She is an Honor student and is a member of S.P.A.R.C.

Kayla is a member of the 4H Club and helps her neighbors with chores.


January: Elementary Students in the Spotlight

February: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for February. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.

 

Gianna Lowman, daughter of Dina Tudisco and Leonard Lowman, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the middle school band, and is homeroom representative for student council.

Gianna is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League and Weatherly Youth Softball League.  She dog sits, walks dogs, helps clean and volunteers at the Carbon County Animal Shelter.

Gianna helped with Vacation Bible School.

 

Eric Walsh, son of Melissa Walsh, White Haven, and Edward Walsh, Jr., West Hazleton, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  He is a member of middle school chorus, S.P.A.R.C. and is homeroom representative for student council.

Eric is a member of Phantoms Street Hockey in Hazleton and helps his neighbors with work.

 

Girard Fewins, son of Girard and Laurie Fewins, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  He is an Honor Student, a member of S.P.A.R.C. and the Photography Club.

Girard is currently in Aikijutsu and has his purple belt.

Girard is a member of St. Patrick’s Church in White Haven where he received Confirmation in 2015.

March: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for March. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.



Frank Willis, son of Frank and Tracey Willis, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  He is a Principal’s Honor student.

 

Frank is a member of the Weatherly Youth Basketball League, Hazleton Street Hockey, and Weatherly Boy Scouts where he went “Scouting for Food”.  He participated in Bowl 4 Kids, Weatherly Powerwalk, and the Weatherly Hill Climb and Tweedle Park clean up.  He also cuts grass for neighbors at times.

 

Frank is a member of Our Most Precious Blood Church in Hazleton where he attends CCD, church fundraisers, helps teachers, and was part of the Drama Play.

 

Isabella Wagner, daughter of Matthew and Shay Wagner, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is an Honor Student, a member of the middle school band, Weatherly Jr. High Cheerleading Squad, Weatherly Jr. High Cross Country Team, and is homeroom representative for student council.

 

Isabella is a member of the Greater Hazleton Youth Soccer League and Anna Marie School of Dance where she is in hip hop, jazz, lyrical and tap.

 

Isabella is a member of Salem U.C.C. where she helps with Sunday School and other church related activities.

 

Rachael Caccese, daughter of Robert and Colleen Caccese, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal Honor student, member of the middle school band and chorus, and S.P.A.R.C. in 7th and 8th grade.  She on the Envirothon Team this year and was in past years, went to Black Creek for water testing, was Talent Show winner in 5th and 6th grade, Represented the Weatherly District 10 Band in 6th grade, Qualified for John Hopkins in 7th Grade, and was Student of the Month in 6th and 7th grade.

 

Rachael participated in the Feast of Life Production at Holy Rosary Church and Faith of God Church in Hazleton.

Rachael is a member of Holy Rosary Church in Hazleton where she is an altar server since 3rd grade, member of the junior choir, a candidate for Confirmation and works the church bazaar every year.

April: Middle School Students of the Month

Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students of the Month” for April. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.


Jessica Moser, daughter of Christopher and Tara Moser, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month.  She is an Honor Student, is a member of the middle school chorus and is homeroom representative for student council.

Jessica is a member of T&K Tumbling where she takes Gymnastic Classes and DeMelfi’s Music School where she takes Singing Lessons.

Jessica is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Meadows where she is a Celebration Leader at Vacation Bible School.


Nicole Osifat, daughter of Brian and Linda Osifat, Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month.  She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus, S.P.A.R.C., and Weatherly Jr. High Softball Team.

Nicole is a member of the Greater Hazleton Youth Soccer Association.

Nicole is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where she is in the Confirmation Class.


Jazzalyn Rodriguez, daughter of Allison Gaston, White Haven, is the eighth grade Student of the Month.  She is a member of the 8th Grade Decorating Committee.
