Middle School Students of the Month: December
Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the
students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students
of the Month” for December. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance,
extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.
Jesse Gehman, son of LeeAnn and Steve Gehman, Weatherly, was selected as the
sixth grade Student of the Month. He is a First Honor student, a member of the middle
school band and chorus, and participates in the Wrecker Power Walk.
Jesse participates in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk at Heritage Hill and helps
with their yard sale. He also shovels snow for his neighbors.
Jesse is a member of Zions Lutheran Church and Mountain View Church where
he attends vacation Bible School.
Christina Caravella, daughter of Michele and John Caravella, Weatherly, is the
seventh grade Student of the Month. She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the
middle school chorus, homeroom representative for student council, and is on the
Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team.
Christina is a member of the Weatherly 4-H and enjoys volunteering at Tweedle
Park’s Bingo night and Fundraisers. She also enjoys spending time with her family
camping and bicycling.
Christina is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she attends CCD
class.
Morgan Mengle, daughter of Traci and Billy Mengle, Weatherly, is the eighth
grade Student of the Month. She is a Second Honor student and a member of the
Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team.
Morgan is a member of the Weatherly Youth Biddy Basketball League. She also
child sits.
Morgan is a member of Zions Lutheran Church where she is an acolyte.
Middle School Students of the Month: November
Mrs. Sandra Slavick, Middle School Principal, has announced the names of the students who were nominated and selected as Weatherly Area Middle School “Students
of the Month” for November. The award is based on academic achievement, attendance,
extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.
Ryan Gillott, son of Robert and Dawn Gillott, Weatherly, was selected as the
sixth grade Student of the Month. He is a First Honor student and a member of the
middle school band and chorus.
Ryan is a member of the McAdoo Baseball and Cub Scouts, McAdoo winter
basketball team, Weatherly Baseball League, Weatherly Youth Basketball League, Sand
Lot Slugger and Saullo-Serany Basketball League. He also dog sits and assists his
grandmorther in various tasks.
Nalani Lowman, daughter of Leonard and Dina Lowman, Weatherly, is the
seventh grade Student of the Month. She is a Principal’s Honor student, a member of the
middle school chorus, Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team, and is homeroom
representative for student council.
Nalani is a member of the Weatherly Library, takes dance classes at Dance
Explosion in Nesquehoning, participated in the Ian Hinkle walk, and child sits.
Nalani is a member of Zions Lutheran Church where she is in the Youth group
and participates in fundraisers.
Allyson Isom, daughter of Matthew and Melissa Isom, Weatherly, is the eighth
grade Student of the Month. She is a First Honor student, a member of the middle school
band and chorus, 8th Grade Decorating Committee, Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball
Team, Weatherly Jr. High Softball League and is President of the SGA.
Allyson child sits her two twin cousins and volunteered her time at JJ Ferrara
Performing Arts Center.
Alyson is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she is in the
Confirmation CCD class.

The award is based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, and service to school and community.
Julia Hinkle, daughter of Mary and John Hinkle, Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month. She is a Principal’s Honor student and a member of the middle school chorus.
Julia takes dances lessons at the Performing Arts Center in Conyngham.
Julia is a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Hazleton.
Autumn Shoener, daughter of Richard Shoener, Thornhurst, and Patty Shoener, White Haven, is the seventh grade Student of the Month. She is a Prinicipal’s Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus, S.P.A.R.C., and is homeroom representative for student council.
Autumn is a member of the White Haven Library, takes dance lessons at Ardito School of Dance in North Pocono, participated in the Cancer Relay for Life Walk, Caleb’s Foundation/Pennies for Heaven, and she makes jewelry with her mother and donates the money to Breast Cancer.
Meghan Moon, daughter of Cathy and David Moon, Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month. She is an Honor student, a member of the middle school chorus, S.P.A.R.C., Yearbook Club, Weatherly Jr. High Girls Basketball Team, and is Treasurer for student council.
Meghan is a member of the Greater Hazleton Softball League.
Meghan is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she was in the confirmation CCD class and helps at the festival.
