Welcome to the Weatherly Area School District
Weatherly Area School District is located in Carbon County in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The school district covers approximately 100 square miles. The school district is comprised of Weatherly and East Side Boroughs, and the townships of Kidder (North), Lausanne, Packer and Lehigh. Weatherly Area School District is approximately 70 miles north of Philadelphia, 30 miles south of Wilkes-Barre and 10 miles east of Hazleton. The District has one elementary school offering full-day kindergarten, one middle school and one high school.
Weatherly is a close knit community where the Weatherly Area PTA, Booster Clubs, Alumni Association and parent groups all work together with school staff to support and promote a quality education. We are very proud of our academic accomplishments. Each year we are recognized for meeting PSSA targets. In 2008, our school district was awarded the maximum Title I Academic Achievement Award of $5,000.00. Each year, the Division of Federal Programs allocates a portion of Title I Funds to Title I schools making AYP for two or more consecutive years. The Elementary/Middle School and the High School all will be receiving Keystone Awards this year for making AYP for two consecutive years.
