Weatherly Area High will join more than 300 other school districts (of the 501) throughout the commonwealth as a grant recipient. Classrooms will be outfitted with laptops, lcd projectors, electronic whiteboards, digital cameras, and digital camcorders. A plethora of professional development is also included for teachers.
Through this competitive grant, Weatherly received $106,867 for hardware, plus $30,000 for a coach to assist teachers.
Through the creation of "smart classrooms," Classrooms for the Future schools will truly transform learning with laptop computers for students, multimedia tools, and professional development for educators to enhance both teaching and learning. Thanks to the commitment of Governor Rendell and the General Assembly over $90 million has been dedicated to support this nationally recognized model to reach even more students across the commonwealth.
